The University of Georgia was founded in 1785. The library contains the papers of Guido Adler (Austrian musicologist, editor of the Denkmäler der Tonkunst in Österreich) and Olin Downes (music critic for the New York Times). Both Adler and Downes corresponded with Schoenberg.
